CBS - Health Costing Experts launched a new interactive tool called Hospital At A Glance (HAAG). It is a visual application designed to help with hospital patient flow. HAAG enables staff to quickly see where demand pressure points may occur and helps to review possible staffing and capacity issues by surveying nursing staff at the beginning of every shift.
The application highlights urgent and emergent needs to the duty manager and their responses are recorded and made visible. Ultimately, HAAG shows how the hospital is responding to events and fluctuations in the hospital system.
Lakes DHB is the first to use HAAG across their two hospitals in Taupō and Rotorua. Acting Director of Nursing and Midwifery, Nina Hartley, describes HAAG as “an easy-to-use tool that has enhanced the ability to both respond and document response to hospital needs across two sites.”
